Clean Scuffs Off of Gold or Silver Shoes
Gold and silver shoes can get scuffed just like any shoe can but they can be harder to clean so that they are still shiny and not scratched.
Find an old toothbrush that is dry and put some white toothpaste on it. You can use any toothpaste but white toothpaste will do a better job of cleaning up the scuff since it has a mild abrasive in it. Gently take the dry toothbrush and rub off the scrap or scuff. Then take a moist cloth and wipe off the toothpaste. You don't have to use much toothpaste in fact for this less is better.
If you don't have an old toothbrush you can use a small piece of dry terry cloth or a cotton cloth that is clean and dry. Just put a smidgen of toothpaste on the small cloth and rub off the scrap or scratch from the gold or silver shoe.
After you have removed the scratch or scuff you may need to polish the shoe some. If the shoe looks good you can stop right there but if the shoe is dull where you cleaned off the scratch or scuff you can take a small amount of furniture polish and polish the dull spot shiny again.
Use a small piece of terry cloth and put on some of the polish. Rub the dull spot with the polish and then wipe if off with a moist cotton cloth to get off the polish. Don't use a wet cloth just use a moist cloth so you don't damage the gold or silver shoes.
Once your scuff has been removed your gold or silver shoes will be ready to go again. If you think that the procedure may harm your gold or silver shoes you can try this first on an inconspicuous spot. If the spot does not lean up well you may want to try a different approach at cleaning up your gold or silver shoes.
No matter how hard to try to protect your shoes they can still get scuffed or scratched. If it happens you may want to try cleaning the scuff or scratch with this method.
