Glycerin 9 by Brooks Featured by Runner's World
The Glycerin 9 by Brooks Sports is a featured choice in the Runner's World Fall Shoe Review
Fortunately, Runners' World takes some of the agnst out of finding the right running shoe by producing their runner's shoe guide. This Fall 2020 Runner's World Fall Runner's Guide introduces Brook's Ghost 4 with their Editor's Choice Award and includes the Glycerin 9 in their litany of best running shoe choices. The Glycerin 9, a neutral runner, is my 2020 choice because even when I've worn off a lot of heel tread, it remains my preferred shoe.
When first determining to really stay with running as the main element in an exercise program I went to a specialty store to get "real runner's shoes." After trying several pair, there was NO doubt, the Brooks shoe was the shoe my feet needed to "Run Happy!" That was in 1982 and I've been a Brook's convert ever since.
Regardless of the wear...there's 365 days in a year - take out 60 Sundays and you've got 305 for 2 years and 90 days of wear for the last part of 2020. That's when my Glycerin 7's, arrived (November 21, 2020) at my door from Brooks Running. Now, multiply 700 days by 3 miles per day to get the an approximate number of miles on these shoes. I think that number is 2100 miles. They stood the test and well past it. And, even though I had other pairs without all the miles, they remained my preference until 2 weeks ago when the Glycerin 9's arrived because they still retained more support and comfort than the others. Now, please, don't you do that. Running shoes are said to give the best support if changed every few hundred miles. My first reaction when trying the Glycerin 9's on?
Oh, my gosh.....That's Got To Be Nano Technology! Brooks' calls it "Nano Springs." Nano technology is the absolute best way I know to describe how the Glycerin 9 acts and reacts on the foot. The shoe does not perform as a static piece of cardboard, some kind of over still composition plastic, or like a springboard platform but more like a liquid hydro-flow moving as the runner's moves. Nanotechnology is the engineering of functional systems at the molecular scale. And, that's exactly how Brook's MoGo and "innovative Genetic Engineering DNA," responds.
Brooks' engineering has created a shoe to move in a dynamic symphony with each personal and individual stride from feet, legs, and body motion. They use this description: the "midsole technology that instantly adapts to a runner's size and stride," to describe the midsole technology in every shoe. Brooks DNA is engineered to provide, "30% better cushioning than standard gels and EVA materials." In my experience, that's is precisely how the shoes feel and function.
