This past weekend, I once again needed a new pair of shoes. This time, it was my Starter Men's Johnny Sneakers that needed to be replaced. I ended up doing just that too, with a new pair of the exact same shoes.
There are some people out there who like variety when it comes to buying sneakers. I'm not one of them. If I find a brand I like, I do my best to stick with that brand as long as I can. And, that's why the Starter Johnny Sneakers have been my brand of choice for more than two years.
In total, I have bought four different pairs of this shoe, about one pair ever six months. And, there is a reason for that.
One of the biggest reasons is the price. Before buying this brand again, I did look around and most comparable brands are $20 or more. I paid a little over $13 for this pair; the most I have ever paid for these shoes (they used to be about $10). I put shoes through a lot of abuse and don't like spending a fortune on them so that price is right in my preferred range.
Of course, the price of the shoe really wouldn't matter if I didn't get quality too. And, that's the other reason why I liked these shoes. First, they are very comfortable, much more comfortable than other budget-brand shoes. In fact, I think these shoes are as comfortable as the more expensive brands.
Another thing that I like about these shoes is they are very durable. As I said before, I put shoes through a lot of abuse and wear them in all sorts of weather conditions ranging from rain to snow. On average, these shoes hold up about 6 months, which is what I have learned to expect regardless of the price or the brand. In fact, the pair I just replaced would have lasted me longer than that if I wouldn't have punched a hole in the bottom of one when putting in my gravel driveway.
If you are looking for a pair of shoes that are comfortable, durable and don't cost you a fortune, this is the brand of sneakers I would recommend. I know I intend on buying them for as long as they are available.
