The Best Way to Ensure Your DVDs Sell on eBay

Ideas to market and sell DVDs using eBay whilst competing with other cheaper competition.

Be it this reason, or just because you may want a few extra bucks, you may find yourself clicking on good old eBay to find buyers for all those copies of 'Quantum Leap' you never watch any more.

Anyone that's tried to sell single DVDs will have come across very few sales. This is because of sites like Amazon, Play.com, etc.. they all offer brand new DVDs, (none of this second hand scratched rubbish), and all at low low prices due to them buying in bulk. Added to this is the postage service they offer which is normally free! So you're gonna have to come up with some value adding marketing if you want to shift that shelf of all those Bruce Willis movies.

So here are a few tips to selling your DVDs through eBay to get those sought after sales:-

Bulk them together

Instead of selling single DVDs, sell 10 for around $10 - $15. This way the buyer gets each DVD for around a dollar each, promoting value that other sites would be hard pushed to offer, and you're not back and forth to the post office sending out DVDs one at a time! Its also more attractive to the customer knowing they're getting 10 movies for around the same price as 2 brand new ones.

Package them in themes

Similar to the above, only offer about 5 and market them based on their theme. Find 5 romantic comedies, action film, 5 horror movies and 5 thrillers. This way you can up the price slightly per DVD, maybe to about $8 for 5, because your buyer in this situation is already pinpointed. Instead of looking for a bargain as such, they'll be drawn to their desired genre of film, and as they're getting 5 of them will be more than interested.

Offer them as an incentive for other sales

If you're selling other items on eBay, why not offer a 'free' DVD with every one of your sales to the customer? If you're selling a Star wars toy set, offer the film for 'free' with the sale. If you add a dollar to the price of the selling item, but offer the DVD as a free gift, the customer will be more attracted to the prospect of getting something for nothing and you kill two birds with one stone! You increase the demand for your item AND 'sell' your single DVD for a dollar!

Give them as gifts and save the money you would have otherwise spent

Instead of spending money on gifts for people on their birthdays or at Christmas, bundle up 15 of your DVDs and wrap them nicely. A bundle of DVDs would make a great gift to friends or relatives. Pocket the cash you would have spent on them otherwise and you've effectively just sold your DVDs to yourself!
