The Bull and Bear Tavern in Houston, Texas: A Good Place for Sports Watching
The Bull and Bear Tavern is a great pub in West Houston to enjoy watching games
The pub is actually in a shopping center but a little hidden since it is in the back area, but that does not stop people at all. The place is located at 11980 Westheimer Rd and the hours of operations are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. However for special occasions like the Word Cup games they open earlier for the morning games (due to the difference in time zones). All sports fan can come here and cheer for their teams, they also frequently play MLS games, the Dynamo's games when they are away mainly.
Once you walk in you will see the bar (the main attraction) in front of you and the pub divided in to two areas so to speak, on the right side you have more tables and TV's, and then walking to the left side you still have tables, and TV's plus a nice big area for playing darts.
If you like breakfast food then they do offer a good menu until 2 p.m. on weekends, and every morning during the soccer World Cup games (but the cut off time seems to be 1:30 p.m.) like the steak and eggs if you are extremely hungry or go with the sausage rolls which are delicious chunky sausage wrapped in a phyllo dough pastry and comes with eggs, toast and hash browns, however I do not recommend their coffee as it tastes a little burnt.
If you want more pub food to go with the game that you are watching then go with the buffalo wings which you can choose regular, extra hot, Cajun, lemon pepper or parmesan for $6.99, or pub nachos with either ground beef or chicken for $8.99, or even the stuffed jalapenos with either cream cheese or cheddar for $6.50, or even a basket of onion rings or beer battered fries for $4.75.
The Bull and Bear Tavern is a nice pub to go watch all your favorite games from soccer to baseball to basketball.
